IP: Sandra Fonseca
We are looking for a researcher to work on Light Signalling and Plant Adaptation to the Environment at the National Centre for Biotechnology (CNB-CSIC).
Research:
Our group investigates how plants respond to beneficial and damaging light stimulus by controlling in a coordinated way protein homeostasis, chromatin dynamics and transcriptional networks. We want to understand how light conditions regulates the plants response to environmental stresses as high temperature or drought. These stresses can greatly diminished plant growth and compromise biomass production. We are investigating these relations envisioning future beneficial applications in a climate change context.
The National Centre for Biotechnology (CNB) is a Severo Ochoa Excelence Centre that forms part of the Spanish National Research Council (Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas, CSIC). The CNB houses a broad diversity of scientists (biologists, biochemists, physicists and computational scientists) and a unique array of state-of-the-art infrastructures that cover multiple cutting-edge quantitative technologies. This environment paves the way for successfully addressing biological problems from an integrative perspective.
We are seeking for:
Candidates must have a Master degree in an area related to Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or Plant Biology. We seek enthusiastic and self-motivated researchers willing to develop a scientific career. A solid base on molecular biology and biochemistry is required. Proficiency in English and good communication skills are desirable.
We offer:
A contract associated to a project for 22 months, beginning at October 2025 with possibility of extension. There is the possibility to perform a PhD.
An excellent scientific environment and possibility of participation in a multidisciplinary project.
