The greenhouse Service takes care of the following facilities specific for plant cultivation:

– A standard greenhouse with 8 cabinets (total growth surface: 180 square meters)
– A P2 safety level greenhouse with 4 cabinets (total growth surface: 83 square meters)
– 8 growth chambers with light photoperiod and temperature control
– 8 growth chambers with control of light intensity and photoperiod, humidity and temperature

Services:
– Growth and propagation of plants under controlled environmental conditions
– Growth and propagation of mutant and transgenic lines under controlled environmental and biosafety conditions
– Identification, selection and phenotypic analysis of mutant and transgenic plants

The cultivation and manipulation of wild, mutant and transgenic plants carried out by the CNB Greenhouse Service follows the National and the European rules of Biological Safety necessary for manipulation of biological agents and of genetically modified organisms.
