Directive Board

The CNB’s directive board consists of a director (Mario Mellado) and two deputy directors (Ana Cuenda and Lluís Montoliu). The director and deputy directors are elected every four years by the scientific staff, which includes all CNB staff with doctoral degrees.

The administration and technical support aspects are coordinated by the CNB general manager (Isabel Sevillano).

The centre’s scientific and strategic decisions are taken by the Management Board, formed by the Directive Board, the general manager, the heads of the six CNB departments and two representatives of staff. This board meets periodically to discuss, implement and report on the decisions of the directive team.

In addition, the CNB has an external scientific advisory committee formed of eight scientists of international prestige in the centre’s research areas. This committee, recently renewed, evaluates the CNB’s scientific activity and advises the centre’s management through periodic reports.
