We are looking for candidates like you to join CNB’s Scientific Strategy & Management Unit.

The Scientific Strategy & Management Unit is a key Unit whose mission is to boost and facilitate the scientific activity of CNB’s research groups by supporting the preparation, submission and execution of scientific proposals, with a special emphasis on international ones. The Unit’s tasks involve supporting the research groups in searching for academic and private partners and collaborators, both national and international.  A key goal is also to attract international talented scientists to CNB.

We seek a highly motivated, self-driven and committed project manager with previous experience in a similar position, ideally in the life sciences area. Candidates with scientific background and knowledge or training on scientific management who would like to move from the bench to the management field are also welcome.

This position is funded by the MICINN, under the program “Preparación y gestión de proyectos europeos y facilitar la atracción de talento internacional en instituciones de I+D” (GPE2024)” in its modality “Facilitar la atracción de talento internacional en las instituciones de i+d”. What do we need?

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Development and implementation of international talent attraction strategies and campaigns.
  • Contribution to the development of the CNB’s talent recruitment policy.
  • Support in the management of international mobility including onboarding management, advice and support of international researchers in accommodation, schools, removal services, etc.
  • Drafting and updating manuals and SOPs related to assigned responsibilities.
  • Helping in the management of scientific projects.
  • Management, monitoring and justification of the Project to which the offered contract is linked.
  • Staying up to date with the latest staffing trends both within the technology industry throughout other progressive companies

Requirements for this position:

  • Master degree or PhD in Life Sciences.
  • Previous experience or knowledge in projects management or related professional areas.
  • Work experience or knowledge in tasks related to recruiting strategies.
  • Excellent spoken and written English imperative.

Desirable skills:

  • The successful candidate will have strong communication skills, proactiveness and strong capacity to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Ability to execute recruiting strategy – This may include job posting optimization, recruiting market channel development, job board procurement, digital and non-digital employment marketing, comprehensive recruitment planning, talent planning and other sources.
  • Personal efficiency in the daily management of time and duties.
  • Masters’ or similar training in management skills
