Mouse Embryo Cryopreservation Facility (CNB-CSIC)The EMMA projects uses Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all its operations. In particular, at the WEB page of the EMMA project there are listed the current principal methods in EMMA nodes. In general, the cryopreservation of mouse 2-cell embryos obtained from in vitro fertilization is the preferred method in all EMMA nodes, as the most efficient method. Methods listed include:

Freezing mouse embryos

Freezing mouse sperm

In vitro fertilization

Slow-rate freezing IVF-derived 2-cell mouse embryos

.

These methods are regularly taught at the EMMA-JAX cryocourse organized annually by Marcello Raspa at CNR-Monterotondo (Italy)

.

Security measure: the backup archive of EMMA embryos cryopreserved at CNB is stored at the neighbouring CBMSO center, within the same University-CSIC campus in Madrid

To send any comment or question related to the EMMA node at CNB please contact Lluís Montoliu or Julia Fernández
