Mision & Vision of our group Antagonist Modulator of Downstrem Regulatory Elements (DREAM) is a calcium-dependent multi-task protein mainly found in neurons that is involved in neurodegenerative disorders with high prevalence in humans, such as Alzheimer and Huntington.Previous results from our group showed that DREAM interacts with a number of proteins within cells and suggested that DREAM function and localization may be regulated through protein-protein interaction. We also evidenced that DREAM shuttles to the nucleus of differentiated neurons, binding to the specific DNA motifs termed DRE-elements and eventually repressing gene transcription.We are currently focused on the screening of DREAM interactome (protein-protein interactions -PDIs- and protein-DNA interactions -PDIs-). To achieve this aim we settled platform combining experimental large-scale appraches (protein arrays, antibody arrays and DNA arrays) and bioinformatic analysis of larga amounts of data. |
