SERVICE DESCRIPTION
The Genomics Unit is equipped with all the instruments to carry out 1 or 2 colours hybridizations with Agilent, Affymetrix y NimbleGen-Roche technologies. These platforms contain high-density microarrays, allowing analyzing multiple samples at once and reducing experimental costs. The Unit also offer other related services such as analysis of RNA integrity (using Agilent´s Bioanalyzer 2100) or custom microarray printing of oligonucleotide or DNA collections provided by the user. Data analyses include the application of state-of-the-art statistical tests. In addition, results are provided in a friendly web-based format for easy interpretation by users. The Genomics Unit has also developed some novel techniques related to genomic analysis, which is the identification of protein-DNA binding specificities that will be soon available as a service. The Genomics Unit at the CNB is focused on gene expression or structural variation analysis using DNA microarrays. This technique allows comparison of the gene expression from two biologically different samples through the study of the expression levels of thousands of genes.
