Organized by CNB researcher Pablo Gastaminza, on 13 April 2012 we are hosting a workshop on the study of hepatitis C virus infection at the Centro Nacional de Biotecnología. The objective is to gather together scientists focused on hepatitis C virus, with the hope of
priming new collaborations among different research teams.
Thanks to the support of the Sociedad Española de Virología (SEV) and the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), we will benefit from special contributions by Professor Charles Rice, Director of the Center for the Study of Hepatitis C Virus at the Rockefeller University in New York. The workshop will be divided into three sessions covering basic, clinical and diagnostic-epidemiological research, and selected speakers will present their most recent advances. Each of the sessions will be introduced by Area Coordinators of the SEV Viral Hepatitis Group, who will provide insight into the state of the art and the new challenges in these areas. We will review these and other aspects of HCV research together with a panel of experts in a Round Table, where the SEV Viral Hepatitis Group will be presented. Workshop registration is free but mandatory. You can register via Dr. Gastaminza, stating your name, email, affiliation and whether you wish contribute with a brief oral presentation. To attend, please register before 15 March, to allow us to estimate the number of participants in advance. If you wish to present your work briefly (10 min, with 3 min for questions), please include abstract (250 words) and the authors' affiliations in your registration email before 5 March. Please note that oral communications will be in English. Due to time limitations, only a handful of abstracts will be selected for presentation. Authors presenting their work will benefit from a free one-year membership to the SEV, if they are new members. ![]() |
